As far as I’m concerned, the 1970’s was one of the best eras for fashion. Eastern influences from Asia, Persia and Africa extensively shaped the expressions of style in the West. On top of this black people were going through a period of more boldly embracing their natural beauty. During the Black is Beautiful movement there was such a fierce attitude reflected in the extraordinary afros, bell bottoms worn with total swag and towering platform heels.

This paisley jumper is so emblematic of that decade. The paisley. The super wide legs. I just adore it. Hands down it’s one of my most cherished vintage finds, a piece that I can see keeping for a daughter if I ever have one.
