Red Floral Wrap Dress

Ever since Diane von Furstenberg created the jersey wrap dress in the 1970’s, the piece has become ubiquitous and has seen many reincarnations. Given the easy stylishness that wrap dresses tend to embody (no pun intended), I can see why they have remained popular for decades. I tend to favour wrap dresses made out of silk, linen or cotton. Although this dress is not made from one of the above materials, I made an exception because of the bold print.

As shown, I styled it with a peach coloured clutch (that like the dress, was thrifted) and a pair of cream sandals. I chose the sandals as a way to step out of my comfort zone but I’m not sure that they quite work with the dress’ colours. Going forward, I will probably stick to wearing shoes that are earth tone or metallic with them or maybe I will go the matchy route with red shoes. I will also play around with other accessories next time.
