How Beautiful We Were
Can you believe that we’re already half way through the year? It blows my mind how quickly time has been going. So far, I have been pleased with the vast majority of the books I have read in 2021, both those on the Papyr.us Book Club list and the extra ones I have read. The one I most recently completed was Caul Baby by Morgan Jerkins, which was extraordinary. You can see my review of it here.
Before, I announce this month’s pick, I want to share an update. From next month, I will be only sharing posts discussing the books once I review them instead of doing announcement posts like this one and then reviews. It has been impractical doing both, especially with everything else that I’m working on. Going forward, I will share the book announcements at the beginning of the month via my newsletter and the book reviews at the end of the month here on the blog.
Now that that piece of housekeeping is out of the way, let’s get to July’s book - How Beautiful We Were by Imbolo Mbue.
Have you read this book? If so, what are your thoughts about it?
